I often tell myself that watching movies is part of my job as a writer because, through film, I learn about storylines, character development, and especially dialogue. Some movies have made such a big impression on me I still remember the first time I saw them.
Every ten years or so I read a book that shifts my belief system. Humankind: A Hopeful History by Rutger Bregman is that book. It joins Ishmael by Daniel Quinn and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig on my list of top-ten mind-altering books.
I’m celebrating! I’ve finished the manuscript for the fourth and final book in The Devil Particle Series and sent it to my editor.
